Ingredients

  • 500g beef, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp oil or ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot and fry onions until golden.
  2. Add ginger, garlic, turmeric, chili, cumin, and beef.
  3. Cook until the meat changes color and releases its juices.
  4. Add water and simmer until the beef becomes tender.
  5. Wash the rice and add it to the pot.
  6. Cook on medium heat until the rice absorbs the water.
  7. Cover and steam on low heat for 15–20 minutes.
  8. Fluff gently and serve hot.

Easy Layered Paratha Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, oil, and water to make a soft dough.
  2. Rest the dough for 20 minutes.
  3. Roll thin, brush with oil, fold into layers, and roll again.
  4. Cook on a hot pan until golden brown on both sides.

Sweet Yogurt (Mishti Doi) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 liter milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt (starter)

Instructions

  1. Boil milk and reduce slightly.
  2. Caramelize sugar and mix into the milk.
  3. Let the milk cool until warm.
  4. Add the yogurt starter and mix gently.
  5. Pour into clay bowls and cover.
  6. Leave in a warm place for 6–8 hours until set.
  7. Chill before serving.
